In May of 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad with a group of education majors from Georgia College and State University. We spent the majority of our time in London, England and also visited Paris, France for three days while also visiting Windsor and Bath. For the first week, we visited Queensmill School in London. This is a school for children with autism. This experience allowed me to work in a classroom all day with four and five year old children. I was able to see how the school was run and fully engage with the students in my classroom. The experience is one that I will never forget and one that I believe has prepared me for my career as an educator. For the remainder of the trip, we toured many of the popular attractions in the city while also taking the Eurostar to Paris for a brief visit. While in Paris we visited many popular sites including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). I enjoyed touring this facility and hearing how this international organization runs. I believe that my study abroad experience broadened me as person and also provided me with more worldly views on education and on the world in general. I am eager to continue traveling abroad and learn more about the world around me. Below, I have attached a few pictures from my trip.
